On 9 August 2022, it is an honour to have Mr Seah Moon Ming (Chairman of SMRT Corporation Pte Ltd., SMRT Trains Pte Ltd., SMRT Trains Ltd., SMRT TEL Pte Ltd. and SMRT Buses Ltd.) conferred the Meritorious Service Medal (Pingat Jasa Gemilang) and Mr Abu Bakar Mohd Nor (Director of SMRT Corporation Ltd and RTS Operations Pte Ltd) conferred the Public Service Star. The two titles serves as the strongest testament and appreciation to their service, devotion and ability performed over the years.
The Meritorious Service Medal (Pingat Jasa Gemilang) is awarded, only to any person who has performed within Singapore, service of conspicuous merit characterised by resource and devotion to duty, including long service marked by exceptional ability, merit and exemplary conduct.
The Public Service Star is awarded to any person who has rendered valuable public service to the people of Singapore or who has distinguished himself in the field of arts and letters, sports, the sciences, business, the professions and the labour movement.

Mr Seah Moon Ming is the Chairman of SMRT Corporation Ltd., SMRT Trains Ltd., SMRT TEL Pte. Ltd. and SMRT Buses Ltd. Mr Seah is also Chairman of National University Singapore High School of Mathematics and Science. He was Chairman of International Enterprise Singapore (from 2013 to 2018), Chairman of Singapore Cooperation Enterprise (from 2012 to 2020), and Chairman of Temasek Polytechnic (from 2006 to 2014). He was President of Singapore Technologies Electronics Ltd (from 1997 to 2009), Deputy CEO & President (Defence) of Singapore Technologies Engineering Ltd (from 2009 to 2013), and Group CEO of Pavilion Energy (from 2013 to 2018).
He is a member of Eta Kappa Nu, senior member of IEEE, a Fellow of the Academy of Engineering Singapore, an Honorary Fellow of the ASEAN Federation of Engineering Organisations Singapore and a member of Ministry of Finance’s ICT Projects Advisory Panel. He is also Honorary President of Singapore Table Tennis Association. In May 2020, Mr Seah was conferred the Medal of Commendation (Gold) for continuing to make contributions towards improving workers’ wages, welfare and work prospects.
Mr Abu Bakar Mohd Nor

Mr Abu Bakar Mohd Nor is a Director of SMRT Corporation Ltd and RTS Operations Pte Ltd and concurrently the Group Chairman of Infofabrica Holdings Pte Ltd across their seven countries operations in South East Asia Region. He is also the Chairman of MiPlanet Pte Ltd, Forward Vision Pte Ltd, Vizzio Technologies Pte Ltd, SME Centre @ SMCCI Pte Ltd and WALSHUM LLC (TUFF Middle East LLC).
In addition, at the national and industry levels, Mr Bakar is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT), Board of Public Utilities Board, Singapore’s National Water Agency (PUB), board of Majlis Ugama Islam Singapore, board of Singapore Malay Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SMCCI) Event Management, SMCCI Enterprise Pte Ltd and board advisor of Nakilat Keppel Offshore & Marine Ltd. He is Deputy President of SMCCI. He was appointed Deputy President in Workplace Safety and Health Council in April 2020. He is also the Chairman of Tampines Central Citizens Consultative Community for People’s Association, M3@Tampines, Industrial Relation Committee of SIT, Investment Committee of MUIS, Financial and Investment Committee of PUB. He is a member of Our Tampines Hub Advisory Committee, People’s Association.
